Founded by Stacey-Robin H. Johnson, mixed-media artist and designer, STARO Luxe is the evolution of her artistic life, a journey shaped by a rich cultural legacy, a working-class household filled with love, black pride, creativity, and the everyday artistry of Black life.
Growing up in a home led by her grandparents, Stacey-Robin watched her grandmother create beauty at every opportunity: a framed needlepoint, a placemat turned masterpiece, a throw pillow became a canvas. Every object—no matter how modest—was a declaration. Why? Because. . . We are worthy of beauty. We are worthy of art. We are worthy of luxury that speaks our language.
